Countries in Latin America Seek Minimum Wage Increase
Amid rising inflation and increasing living costs, several countries in Latin America are considering a new minimum wage increase. This debate has intensified due to the necessity of ensuring a decent living standard for workers, particularly in a context where poverty affects a significant portion of the population.
According to recent reports, Uruguay is leading in terms of minimum wage, having implemented effective policies to keep its minimum wage aligned with inflation and economic growth. Currently, Uruguay's minimum wage is approximately 23,000 Uruguayan pesos, equivalent to about 550 US dollars.
